This Women's Day, PM Modi takes Beti Bachao Beti Padhao program across India

This week was an international women’s day all over the world. International Women’s Day celebrates the social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women across the globe. But far from singling out women, the day focuses on unity, equality and advocacy – especially in a world where the differences and injustices between women and men are as great as ever.
It is great that we have a day like Women’s day. Like many other countries Women's day in India is also celebrated with the similar enthusiasm. Many organizations public and private gear up to participate in various activities like mass rallies, seminars, documentaries and TV shows. NGO’s workings towards uplifting women organize gender sensitive plays. In India several organizations are working towards girl child education, eradication of dowry culture and reservation of seats for women in local panchayats. And several of these initiatives have helped in empowerment of women.
Women’s Day in India is celebrated to make people aware of all the progresses that have been done till date and the work that still needs to be done.
Like that only this year in order to boost the government's initiative of saving and educating a girl child, Prime Minister Narendra Modi saluted the women of the country for their indispensable role in the society and inaugurated the pan-India expansion of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) program on  March 8.
The Prime Minister visited Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan to launch the expansion venture. He interacted with beneficiary mothers and girl children of the program and distributed certificates to the best performing districts under BBBP program.
The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao program will now be expanded from the existing 161 districts to 640 districts all across the country.

Let's promote this incredible program and strengthen the foundation of the society.
